Challenge

St. Louis Corporate Housing needed a site that could showcase 70+ furnished properties across the metro, help relocating guests find units on a map, and keep hard-won local search rankings intact through two full platform changes — first off Drupal, then off Gatsby.

Approach

Phase one moved the business from Drupal to Gatsby with a cleaner content model and faster front end. Phase two rebuilt again on Astro + Sanity for long-term maintainability, performance, and editor speed. Both cutovers treated redirects, URL parity, and SEO as launch criteria. We also shipped a custom Google Maps experience: branded pins, list/map toggle, and search so guests can browse the St. Louis inventory by location.

Outcome

Live at corporatehousingstlouismissouri.com with 70+ properties, area landing pages, map-led discovery, and SEO continuity across both migrations. Editors manage listings in Sanity without waiting on a developer for every change.

Two migrations, one St. Louis operator

Corporate Housing St. Louis Missouri is a long-running furnished-apartment business serving relocating professionals across St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and the Metro East. The site has to do more than look polished — it has to help people find the right property fast, and it has to keep ranking for competitive local queries.

We first migrated the business off Drupal onto Gatsby: a modern JAMstack front end, tighter content structure, and a foundation for local SEO. Years later, Gatsby’s build times, plugin debt, and maintenance cost made another move the right call. We rebuilt on Astro with Sanity CMS — keeping the SEO equity from the Gatsby era while improving speed, DX, and day-to-day editing.

Custom map pins + search

Property discovery is the product. Guests need to scan 70+ listings across Clayton, Creve Coeur, Downtown, Central West End, Kirkwood, St. Charles, and the Metro East. We implemented a custom Google Maps layer with branded pins, a list/map toggle, and search so users can filter and jump to the right building without wading through a static directory.

SEO through both cutovers

Each migration started with inventory: URLs, redirects, metadata, and ranking pages. Location hubs, property detail pages, FAQ schema, and on-page local SEO stayed first-class — not a post-launch punch list. The goal was continuity: guests and Google both land where they expect.

What’s live today

The Astro + Sanity site powers property pages, neighborhood/area landing pages, quote capture, and the interactive map. Accreditations, reviews, and all-inclusive positioning support conversion. See it live at corporatehousingstlouismissouri.com.
